Comments: Let Africa Sink

Well, there was European colonization. That helped for a while. Almost every bit of infrastructure in Africa dates from then, doesn't it?

Good luck to the Chinese!

A great piece; thoroughly validated in the intervening years.

Also reminds me how much I miss the early days of the blogosphere... before pop-up ads, tracking cookies, browser-borne viruses, Hope & Change...

Kim & Mrs. du Toit, EjectEjectEject!, den Beste, Rachel Lucas, pre-PJM Instapundit... good times.

Well, yeah, and everybody knows it - that africa is unfixable. Like trying to teach baboons how to do dentistry.

The people trying to fix africa are doing so for personal gain.

It seems to me that a lot of people want Africa to fail. They love it. Maybe if all those damn people were dead we could use the continent for something useful, right?

As if things weren't bad enough then, the spread of Islam has created an even bigger, more totalitarian Hell. Abandon all hope . . .

I remember Du Toit from back in the 90's, and then he and Beck had a falling out. I don't see much of either any more. Both are extremely intelligent people.

"... there is no answer to Africa's problems ..."

I don't see where there is a question here. It is nobody's business but theirs. Why try to impose foreign values and morals on them? Darwin rules. Mother Nature does not heed the call; Nature just commands, that's all.
I wouldn't want other people coming onto my property and telling me that I am a Mormon now, or a Baptist, that I can't have three wives or sleep on the ground or eat monkey meat, or &c. Would you? Want strangers come into your home and start telling you what to do?

You got people doing this:
The Rwandan Genocide was a genocidal mass slaughter of Tutsi and moderate Hutu in Rwanda by members of the Hutu majority. During the approximate 100-day period from April 7, 1994 to mid-July, an estimated 500,000–1,000,000 Rwandans were killed,[1] constituting as much as 20% of the country's total population and 70% of the Tutsi then living in Rwanda. The genocide was planned by members of the core political elite known as the akazu, many of whom occupied positions at top levels of the national government. Perpetrators came from the ranks of the Rwandan army, the National Police (gendarmerie), government-backed militias including the Interahamwe and Impuzamugambi, and the Hutu civilian population.

What are you gonna tell them, uh?

From the essay:

"All we should do is make sure that none of Africa gets transplanted over to the U.S., because the danger to our society is dire if it does."

It's 30 million too late for this warning because Africa is already here in places like Ferguson.
