James Kelly - Burn It Down

I suppose there's an odd comfort in knowing exactly how one will ultimately check out.

At that instant, I wonder if Kelly will have sufficient time to decide whether or not the thrills were worth it.

Then, maybe he's already decided.

In my little old lady heart I dig it.

If the guy had a lick of sense he'd be wearing leathers.

yeah, nice film and good editing. But really, what is the obsession the young with gravity and balance? Sure, the guy has balance and the road was smooth enough and downhill enough to make progress. But the whole cult of modern 'sports' is that you fall, however elegantly or acrobatically. Can these people ride a bike uphill? Can the climb or do they just tumble? Can they run and jump on their own ability?

Or is it just that they can roll along without effort?

The kid needs to put as much effort into finding a job. If he wants high-adrenaline kicks he can join the Marines.
A good hard punch in the face would start him on his way.

How did he manage to change his clothes so many times on the way down?

Video begins at the ghost town of Bodie, CA. Then there is a shot of the Upper Antelope Valley, Mono County, CA. Next he appears to be riding down Hwy 89 in Alpine County, CA and then he is definitely going down the west side of Sonora Pass in Tuolumne County, CA. Then there is another shot of Bodie with the mill in the back ground. If he had gone down the east slope of Sonora pass he would have run out hill at the Marine Corps Mountain Warefare Training Center in Mono County, CA. The east side of this last pass would have been his final ride for eternity.

You can only "flat spot" wheels so many times before you'll be subjected to an unharmonic balance.

I wish Hillary would take up that sport. I'd love to tailgate her in the camera car for a little added suspence.
