Comments: I’ve always contended that atheism is just another secular religion.

The Three paradoxes of Atheism are that an atheist can live as an atheist only by ignoring the implications of his atheism.

Oh dear, here we go again.
If I ain't, then I am.
What are you supposed to do if you just don't believe in any god, pretend?

After having researched it for decades with some of the greatest theological scholars anywhere I am convinced that the bible is a collection of fiction stories with no concrete link to reality.

Look up the names Zondervan, Duvall, Hays and last but by no means least, Darrell Bock. That's the crowd I've been running with for some time on this topic.

The best that can be said of any of it is, "If you don't believe the bible is real then god cannot be real." Told to me by a minister when I was about 12 years old, and I never forgot it.

"Statements by scientists are not always statements of science....Stephen Hawking said, 'religion is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark'. I said, 'atheism is a fairy story for people afraid of the light'."--Dr. John Lennox, professor of mathematics, Oxford University.

You can't really generalize. Some atheists are completely comfortable with Christians being around and don't care. Some are uncomfortable with Christianity but figure its none of their business.

Now, atheism is a matter of faith and an insufficient examination of the world and one's self, but its not necessarily pernicious or destructive in and of its self or by its nature. Dawkins et, al are not representative of even a large number of atheists. They're just really loud.

And Ghostsniper, those dudes don't even come close to the greatest theological scholars anywhere. I'm not saying the right guys would convince you, I'm just saying you were discussing things with the C team.

Christopher, good points! Ghostsniper exhibits clear indications of confirmation bias - the writers who agree with his predisposition are automatically brilliant.

But atheism is "necessarily pernicious or destructive in and of its self or by its nature" if it is wrong, as Blaise Pascal convincingly argued.

So, if you don't believe, just pretend that you do, then you will be welcomed into the fold.
