There's something in the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna as charioteer [an incarnation of God], advises Arjuna the bowman, to fix his attention on what the present moment demands and leave all the consequences to Him, Krishna.
Try, try again. Dismiss the past, dismiss the future. Do what needs being done now, as best you can discern the need and the doing.
