Comments: It is time that higher education paid the same corporate income taxes that every other industry in America pays.

They should be paying taxes as corporations. The Universities have become Dig Business with all the warts of GM and GE.

Universities of almost every name are political indoctrination machines. Mind bending leftist operations with zero oversight and protection from any real investigation. RICO would be a starting place. I would venture they are also money laundering corporations for the big political donors.

I think he's overstating the case a little, but not much. They aren't exactly corporations, but they are very similar. They have a board of directors, they make a lot of money, they advertise, they put out a product. The tax structure is different and they aren't in business to make a profit, but the rest is identical.

"and they aren't in business to make a profit"

Which explains why they do not make anyone pay tuition. What rubbish. They are profit seeking corporations just like GM and GE. They just pay their dividends out to administrators and faculty in the form of tenure contracts and plush benefits.

The other big "nonprofit" corporations that need to be taxed are the big hospitals.

If they are truly non-profit and don't want to pay taxes, they can always charge less.

A drastic overhaul of the schools' management
would begin by firing every third staff person;
the trusts and donations and operating accounts be liquidated and disbursed among any persons that ever applied for admission;
entrance to and attendance at any school of higher learning be made free;
free room and board be offered;

Reading, writing, arithmetic exams to qualify any students for enrollment. Scores above 80% only, others need not apply.

Two years active duty in any branch of the military a requirement for matriculation.
job placement to include remote locations, Indian reservations, ghetto soup shelters, so forth.

Anyone that believes taxes are a solution to anything haven't been paying attention.

They remind me of the people that claim rapists should go to prison so they can be raped to death.

Wrong is wrong and everybody knows it and it takes an exceptionally lazy mind to go wobbly on this.
