And Now for the Banana Bandito: Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Why in the world are people that OPENLY confess to fearing for their lives from things like bananas allowed to even possess firearms? Every time you turn around these giant wusses are crying about being afraid of something. MY PUSSY HURTS!!!!!

jeezis fukking chryst on a handtruck

preschoolers are being taught adult perversions, adults are relinquished from responsibility for their childish behavior, violent people are scared of their own shadows, words mean nothing and everything simultaneously, and the entire world is turning inside out, upside down.

Well, Walter Matthau did attack Jack Lemon with a fish, until Burgess Meridith stopped it.

These are the type of people who become "Law Enforcement". It will be even more interesting when we notice the "Law Enforcement" personnel begin to more and more appear "Hispanic".

As much as I love the Python skit and as much as I agree with ghostie's position, my sympathies are with the cops here. Context matters.

If we are goofing around in the company break room and you reach in your bag and point a banana at someone while yelling "Give me all your TPS reports!", we all laugh.

If you're a cop on the street and somebody reaches in their coat, pulls out an object and points something at you, you draw your weapon because you have about a second to decide what is going on. Is it some meth-head on a paranoia binge? Is it some guy who just robbed a store? Or is it just some guy with a banana goofing around?

Guess wrong and you are not going home that night. Banana Boy deserves to get his hand slapped.

Bunch? Love? Bananas!

There are two ways of looking at this.

The popos are our gang. We don't like it when our gang loses. We want our gang to be the baddest gang on the street. Don't mess with our pandilleros.

Another way: the police do not have a duty to protect us. Their two jobs are to keep the peace, and catch the criminals. The only ones who can protect us is ourselves. If pulling a banana out of your pants and pointing it at the police is an offense against the State ... well, the divide has been crossed. The job of the police is to protect themselves and the government from the people.

If I was worried about someone pointing "something" at me that would kill me I think I'd pretty quickly find me another way to earn a living as clearly the current way is not conducive to a long and happy life.

As a rule I stay away from known areas where such things are possible and when I need to venture from the compound at all I am bristling as all smart people are these days.

According to the police's own records you are 13 times MORE likely to be shot by a cop than anyone else in the US. Go read Professor John Lott's book, "More Guns, Less Crime" for more details.
