Comments: The Conned Can't Admit They've Been Conned [Bumped]

Not much different from the gambler doubling down on the big bet hoping to get even and avoid getting a pair of broken knees.

Explains MLMs as well.

I find this very true of government school teachers. Taking my children out of school was insulting to them, even though they bitterly complained about their own children's educations. They couldn't "see" it. And, it was right in front of their eyes.

Those didn't used to be Marxist degrees. Back in the '40s-'50s they were soft, artsy or bookish programs, taught by female and effeminate male professors, and taken mostly by females who went to college to do their husband hunting. I know, I was there. In the Vietnam era, US-hating draft dodgers drifted into these programs because they were easy, and stayed on and on until they were no longer vulnerable to the draft. A whole bunch of these ended up with a doctorate, got hired, and now run those programs as Marxist indoctrination.

It starts out well before college. These are people who have a fundamental worldview that is at odds with the world around them. Whether this comes naturally or is a tendency shaped by their teaching, or was imposed on them by leftist teachers and parents, entertainment influences, etc, it doesn't really matter because it plays out the same.

They want the world to be a certain way, they view good and evil in a certain set of categories, and they consider the truth in a certain way. When things don't go that way, or reality keeps interfering, they are faced with the same choice as the rest of us: change your worldview or find excuses and legalistic arguments for why you were right all along, somehow... or change your worldview.

Its much, much easier and more comforting to come up with excuses that defend yourself so you don't feel like you're basically wrong about the world. That's a scary, unsettling place to be - you start wondering if anything you know is right, or how you know right from wrong at any level at all.

I know a LIEberal and every now and then I make it a point to cross paths with him. He does have some good ideas occasionally but mostly he is full of bullshit. So I purposely set him up for an argument then knock his legs out. They are devious in their attempt to avoid reality. And truth. But one on one, eyeball to eyeball, their attempts are very childish, easily detected, and even easier pushed right back down their gagging throats. For some reason I find joy in torturing them with their own tools. Maybe their is a small bit of sadist in me. Or maybe I enjoy the comeuppance of the intellectual criminal. But the enjoyment is short lived for watching a grown up resort, in the end, to acting like a spoiled child that has been caught doing wrong is disappointing in the realization that their is something permanently flawed in this persons brain, and a little bit scary too, especially when I realize that these very same type of people are in charge of a whole country. Frankly, I don't see how the whole thing stays together. I guess the glue that resides in the morals and character of the minority of conservatives is still stronger than the majority of LIEberals. That's what I hope anyway, and eventually the good will prevail.

@Ghost, I too engage in "discussion" with some liberal acquaintances and find the end game useless. You can build a rational argument, block by block, defending each step with reason and fact but in the end they will always shout racist, misogynist, hater, vagina or some other nonsense. I recently had a "discussion" about voter I.D. My opponent had only one response which he kept harping on, " the little old lady who could not get out to get and I.D." No amount of reason, statistical argument, anecdotal irrelevance, etc., could move him. Even the idea that the " little old lady" did not exist in today's society could not sway the argument. I then decided that liberals want to win and if multi or fraudulent voters were required, then damm truth - full speed ahead. The whole exercise was pointless except that damn I was good. hehe

trip - Just like arguing with the wife, eh?

Posted by BillH at December 16, 2014 8:17 AM

@Trip - if the little old lady is able to get out to vote, she can pick up an ID along the way.

I call that the *19 Ninja's* phenomenon and it is a worn out tactic by the LIEberals. They scrounge up the most remote type of escape route and cling dearly to it, "if it only saves one child, it's worth it".

They are truly pathetic, and adolescent in their mindset.

Discuss this with a psychologist and you'll find that you are dealing with someone who deals with the world from a child's perspective. The world is a scary place, to let go and deal rationally means some of what one believes gets shaken and revisited. To the insecure person (who has been brought up that way)that isn't a place they want to venture. Watch a 5 or 6 yo deal with that problem. They get bitchy, give you many no's shut-ups excuses you couldn't dream up all because they're terrified.

In a tyke, I'll accept that, from an adult I won't. They get run over but not by reason, that won't work. You have to just over power them with numbers, basically out vote them and take away their power.

Which means you have to GET UP OFF YOUR ASSES.

You were doing OK VDub til you got to the part where you claim mob rule is good for nullifying the rights of the individual.

It's like using a 9lb sledge to install a thumbtack.

Because some have said I am cryptic, I'll point out specifically the 9 letter word "democracy" is the 9 letter term "mob rule".

It can be bent around a preformed idea any which way you want but there is no avoiding the destiny of the cannibal pot and it's only a matter of time before you get to take a dip.

Thanks just the same but I'll stay over here on the sidelines with my own fears.

Ghost, I'm not proposing running amok over them.
"You have to just over power them with numbers, basically out vote them and take away their power."

That takes everyone getting up and getting involved. Or suffering the consequences of another Obama. Like Fauxahontas
