I don't think that most Americans realize that the war in Afghanistan was a proxy war with Pakistan. I am not sure that many of the national security bureaucrats of the United States realized it either.

I don't think many Americans know where Afghanistan is. Places like Ferguson MO are more important to people looking for looting, killing, mob riots and all the free stuff they can steal.

Any places where there have been protests and mob riots against Law Enforcement are more important than some dumb ol' third-world country.

Many of Martin King's more militant followers advocated for violent insurrection rather than peaceful demonstrations.
He told them violence was a quick way to understand what the word "minority" actually means.

Chasmatic,

Ferguson....what a shame. The protesters want to loot and burn down their own neighborhood. Some of those business will not return, nor the jobs for the community from those non-returning targeted places.

Afghanistan...my cousin returned from there this past spring. Second tour with Army infantry. His days of chasing terrorists is done though, having survived a Blackhawk crash he is still healing from a broken pelvis, several back bones, etc. God bless him and all of those like him!

Snakepit: welcome to this site. My grandson did two in Iraq, currently he's in SoKorea. He wanted, be a Ranger but he messed up his knee. He likes the action, shrug.

Ditto God Bless our troops and any LE and military that go into harm's way for us.

I did my time 1966-1972 and we were not very popular with the lefty pukes and assorted cowards.
They ain't worth a pinch of coon shit but we defended their freedom anyway.
