Time of Disturbance by Robinson Jeffers

I think if I hadn't lived the life I've lived I might have agreed with Mr. Jeffers. But, since I cant undo whats been done I cant.

I find a thread of wickedness in what he writes.

One of my first memories of a child (best recollection 3yo) ... I was sitting next to my fathers workshop in the backyard playing with a toy truck minding my own business, my older brother walks up behind me and hits me in the top of the head with a brick. I remember running into the house with blood streaming down my face and into my eyes. My mother spanked both my brother and I for fighting. I remember being shocked by the raw unjustness of being the object of my mothers seeming moral equivalence of victim and perpetrator.

This theme has been repeated many times over the course of my life. The observer taking a stance of not taking a stance advances the cause of evil.

Nothing. No thing.. is worse than compromise with evil.

Revelation 3:15-17New International Version (NIV)

The Greek uses a word that more closely interprets projectile vomit instead of "spit"

15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Well written, Mr. Henry.

The best words of wisdom I have are:
"Don't worry about the cat pissing on the carpet when the house is on fire."

Sun Tzu said to pick your fights and pick your battleground.

You cannot fight or win them all so save your energy for what counts.

Wonderful philosophy set in artful prose,
those who's easily set out of joint noses,
those who have eyes but cannot see,
those who have minds but cannot think,

cannot know that the battle always won,
is the battle not fought.

Who can make war with The Beast?

Sometimes the point of making war with the beast is not to win against the beast.

The point... is not to become a part of the beast yourself.

God Bless

I;m with Bill Henry on this one.

"The observer taking a stance of not taking a stance advances the cause of evil."

"Nothing. No thing.. is worse than compromise with evil."

Anyone who thinks he's going to skate and skirt the hard choices, comes the day, is a fool, a moral coward or one of the very lucky, very few.

"it is better to strike dead than to strike often. It is better not to strike. "

As put here, "Reckoning verses Revenge".

Never, never strike for personal vanity (ego). In times of peace, strike only after all other avenues have been exhausted, in times of war, just the opposite.

If it is to be war, it must be cold and final, otherwise it is a waste of time.

" I remember being shocked by the raw unjustness of being the object of my mothers seeming moral equivalence of victim and perpetrator. "

Good point, Bill.

The axiom "It takes 2 to fight" is obviously wrong in the case of you and your brother.

It only takes 1 to fight. Anyone who really understand the Paleosimian/Israeli conflict knows this.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
