Comments: Sigh. It's Come to This.

I'm trying to imagine him bald... would be an improvement I think.

You mean he is still alive? I thought he died soon after Mr. Tambourine Man.

Wanna see how a LIEberal hoe talks about her LIEberal ex?

Dylan looks over his shoulder and says, "Who bitch this is?"

Woodie Guthrie was a hard-line lefty communist.

Bob Dylan idolizes Woody.

Nobody under the age of fifty knows who either one of them were.

Nobody over the age of fifty cares who they were except some die-hard hippies that went out on acid trips and never came back.

Conservative values. Class Warfare is for dope-smoking commies. Stand on your own. No leeching. No whining. Fuck the hippies. Hanify

must be on the wrong side, the far divide, the quantum potential, of the Baby Boom, I've got nothing for Dylan. What's a Dylan? All the old boomers are gaga for him, and as far as I can tell it's for something that in my universe doesn't exist, never did, and can't even.

However, I gotta say. All his life, he's been doing exactly what he wants to do, and he doesn't' seem to give a rip what anybody thinks he should do. If you like his stuff, buy it. If you want to know what it means, figure it out for yourself, he's moved on and he's not going to help you. Excellent!

When I was a child it seemed like every visit to my grandparents had Lawrence Welk playing on TV. It was clear that this was my grandparents holding onto the music they remembered. It was the very definition of uncool and tired. By about 1977, it was clear the Baby Boomers were going to do the same thing with their music. And, just like my grandparents and the BB parents, they would never ever even suspect that holding onto 40-50 year old music would be the very definition of uncool.

Because Baby Boomers wouldn't take a deep breath unless the act as been pre-approved and pre-experienced by 99% of their cohort they never saw their experiences from any other viewpoint.

Dylan had a contract with Hallmark Cards some years back to provide verse for their various cards. Most popular are the condolence/sympathy cards.
Some of his best work was in conjunction with Joan Baez but legal issues have limited the performance of that music. Upcoming are his concert performances scheduled with Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder. Tentatively titled "At Night All Cats Are Gray" the effort will serve as a fund-raiser for Black Negro People of Color that have burned themselves out of house and home.

It really surprises me how many people are writing snide comments without bothering to read the interview. (And I'm not just talking about here.)

"The government’s not going to create jobs. It doesn’t have to. People have to create jobs, and these big billionaires are the ones who can do it We don’t see that happening. We see crime and inner cities exploding with people who have nothing to do, turning to drink and drugs. They could all have work created for them by all these hotshot billionaires."

And this:

" I found the questions really interesting. The last time I did an interview, the guy wanted to know about everything except the music. People have been doing that to me since the ’60s — they ask questions like they would ask a medical doctor or a psychiatrist or a professor or a politician. Why? Why are you asking me these things?"

And this:
"But self-sufficiency creates happiness."

It's actually a pretty good interview, although mostly about the music, as it should be.

Teri: not everybody likes Dylan, whether we read the interview or not.

Bob Dylan is sending seniors free copies of his latest album, tucking 50,000 copies into the next edition of "AARP The Magazine," according to the retirement group.

Oh boy.
