I agree with Chas.
For at least 50 years people have been groomed to believe poodles are sissy dogs, and some even groom the poodles to be sissy's.
In the 70's my dad got a poodle and trained it as his bird hunting dog and it was very good at it, better even than his professionally trained english setter.

And then there was the guy a while back who tried to enter the Ididerod dog-sledding race with a team of large poodles. The cowardly race staff refused to let the team enter the race, presumably because of the extreme embarrassment that the huskie teams would suffer if the poodles were to win.
