Comments: The Socially Acceptable Sin

There's a significant difference between fat people and gluttony. You can be a glutton in a lot of ways that have nothing to do with food (sex, porn, games, leisure time, 'binge watching', overwork, alcohol, sleeping too much, on and on). We all know it, which is why people say to do everything in moderation, as they spend the 12th hour that day on social media.

We all do it. Its too easy in a society with so much free time and wealth. Some of the healthiest, leanest, and most fit people on earth are horrendous gluttons, but everyone thinks it means only food.

Have someone take one of them metal fingernail files and press it into the lower portion of your spine, then drag it slowly upwards to the base of your skull. Is that too much?

That's what I think of when I see people describing what other people should do, or use the word *we* when he is speaking of everyone except himself.

Look, if the author wants to live a spartan life I say, "Knock yerself out!", but in the meantime STFU about what other people should do as long as they aren't harming you, and I mean real harm, not that made up mamby pamby shit ("I'm offended!") that's been flying all over the place for the last forever it seems.

There are three categories of this sort of thing. The first is the law, in which you are commanded to take an action.
The second is the whine which is offended or complains if you don't do it.

Then there's the third, which is what good parents and pastors do: the statement of what is good for you, what will serve you best in your life even if you aren't wise enough to understand it at the time.

This isn't law or pressure, just the voice of experience, wisdom, and revelation. If you don't its between you and God... but you'll wish you had, ultimately.

Sigh, I'm only human.

And that's what stunts my growth.

People of Faith have a logical idea of what Life is all about.

Well, that may be true but it's also true that "what's good for me, ain't necessarily good for the weak minded."
