"The greatest national shame of the post-9/11 wars."

After VietNam, I wondered about similar ideas. I remembered my Uncle who had been in the 101st airborn in the battle of the bulge. He came home with a metal plate in his head, but there were no records, so no silver star or purple heart. He saw and did terrible things which I only heard about from my father. Unc never talked about it.
As the author states--he came home and got on with life. Now all the vets seem to be invalids in mind more than body.

I think most veterans are not invalids, neither in mind nor body.

The cohort of men who actually served in country in Vietnam is healthier, better-educated, and more prosperous than their contemporaries who did not so serve.

Warriors frighten and remind leftists that they are emasculated and weak. The make the weak hold their manhoods cheap, and that causes a lot of resentment and bitterness.

So there's a systematic effort to tear these men down, to make these heroes weak, coddled, pathetic, wretched, and dependent. Because the left knows if you've been a warrior in a war... you know you can rely only on you and the man next to you. And that's anathema to the left. They need you depending on the government for everything, not yourself.

So the full court press is on immediately to cut the nuts off these men and get them on the plantation as soon as possible. And well-meaning, sympathetic people go along because of the love and respect for these soldiers.

Around here, east central Idaho, I see all sorts of "men" (actually very effeminate boys) wearing beards so as to look like men. My wife says these creatures hold their hands and arms like women and gesture like women.

I served during the Vietnam disaster and learned what a rotten government we truly have. A friend of mine during HS got into some minor trouble and the judge gave him the ultimatum, "... join the Army or Marine Corps or go to jail for six months". He joined the Corps and was killed in an ambush a year later.

Rough men stand ready...

No 'finer clay' than that.

Could not have said it better myself.

There has been no war war since that of independence where the primary purpose was not that of the looting the American people.

We all remember the Spanish attack in the 1890's , the Germans murdering American millions, The Korean bombers flying over New York, The Vietnamese attacks in California, Papa Bush's reprisals for the vicious attack on the US for the Panamanian aggression, and let's not forget the righteous response of the Regan Regime for the existential threat posed by the military superpower Grenada. But, But, But we did have the carefully cultivated destruction of the obsolete ships in Pearl Harbor

And we haven yet started on Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen,

@Bill Jones:

Your view of history is badly 'skrewd':

The stronger side is not always wrong. The Underdog is not always right.

I strongly suggest you read history and not lick the gravy off the fingers of your socialist masters as hating your country (and the freedoms it gives you) is not conducive for its survival, thus your survival.
