This nonsense drove me out of teaching college forestry and natural resources after 25 years. I knew it was time for me to leave when a student, quite like the woman in the video, accused me of wanting to destroy the forest during a lecture on even-aged forest management techniques. I calmly asked her if she thought I pursued graduate degrees in forestry so I "would know how to destroy" a forest? She replied "Of course!" Arghhh.....I left California and moved to Nevada.

Now I see these same crazies repeating the process they used to shutdown the timber industry in California, being applied to the mining industry of Nevada. All of this is a systematic attempt to drive the few remaining Americans who live a rural lifestyle working in natural resource management and procurement into the cities. Rural America is being bled-dry of jobs and few care.

Just one weekend a month for a couple of years is plenty good enough. My Scouts never turn out like that. Even the ones who have moms sort of like that. And we even carry all of our food with us. I have been unable to locate one in my county.

As far as I can tell there may be one or two female electricians in my county. Maybe. I can't even find very many female engineers. Now I'm going to get blasted here (that's ok) but almost every female engineer that I know (and I work for a company with a LOT of female "engineers") is a PM (guess what that means!), PPQA analyst, engineering support person, budget manager, "manager" or some other assorted position. But an actual female engineer that actually does engineering? A couple or three. Out of hundreds with "engineering degrees".

Take a look at all of the large, yellow equipment that you see around your community. Or that is on the back of flat bed trucks. Who's driving the trucks? Who's operating the equipment. Go ahead. Get a piece of paper and keep count for a couple of months. Try it.

Do women drive trucks? Sure, those that own horses :-) Look for a woman driving a pickup truck pulling construction equipment or a boat. Go ahead. Actually count them. I do, everyday.
