Comments: These Two

My wife's would read 53 (going steady). Married would read 55. We don't have canes yet, but it won't be long.

Holy Kow Bill, you're older than my parents who would have been married 61 years (1954) if they were still alive. You sound like you're still pretty spry.

Oh yeah, when it comes time for the cane, get an old Winchester model 12, 12 ga goose gun and cut the stock off, put a 9 shot magazine extension on it and keep it slammed with 00.

If you can't outrun em, outgun em. :-)

The young whippersnappers, they get the razzing.
Us seasoned veterans, we should be regarded as the battered 'n stooped old shell is the embodiment of those Teutonic warriors, in tattered 'n bloody tunic, posed atop a rock outcropping, facing the wind, chisel-sharp features in the setting sunlight, wounded but unconquerable, a pile o' the slain at my feet.
Oh, and there's a leggy, flaxen-haired, blue-eyed maiden looking up at me adoringly. And a couple of no-neck comrades with shaggy red beards and forty pound swords raised in salute over their heads.

Nah, that couple can't be THAT old! Nineteen fifty-two wasn't all that long ago! Why, my parents met in 1948 and got married in '50..... waitaminute.....

*sigh* Tempus fugit, alas....

Dad died in '97, and Mom spends her time in the general neighborhood of 1945 these days.

Gerard, you are to be envied.

And God bless that couple in the picture. May they spend many more happy days together.

Nice shirts. I think I'll get two just like those except they will say, "Together since 1956." Yeah, it'll be 60 years in 2016. Don't need the canes....yet.
