I agree. I looooved being child #5 (6 by moms' count) and would 'hide in the weeds' when there was 'stuff' to do. In this reality, they are your very first set of friends.

Competitively swam 2 hours a night m-->f from 6 to 12. Took the starch completely out of me most of the time (plus the added bonus of naturally above average strength when I got older).

Those are one heckuva set of drivers to keep the kid in line until he's ready to take on the mantle of trying to maintain the truth (then wave your self-esteem bye-bye permanently).

In this Post-Modern/Post-Farm world, that is becoming a rare commodity. Maybe this is one reason why businesses are turning away from employment all the way to retirement?
