Sunday Sermonette: "God doesn't have to punish us. All He has to do is let us feel the full weight of our sins."

My illustration of that very point from about a year ago.

Exactly so.

I consider him a Mormon, which corrupts any good points he might have to make.

Putting his Mormonism aside for the moment, can you find any Catholic bishop, or even the Pope, for that matter, saying what he is saying? Is any Protestant preacher really doing it publicly? Or is anyone willing to give up their tax status?

I guess I've joined the "Grumpy Old Man" crowd as I now see our country in decline.

Yes, yes... previous generations had seen this decline and I just looked at them and shrugged and thought... well... this is what happens when you get older.

With this video... and the crossing of the social boundaries that Glenn Beck is talking about, I can now easily say that the decline is now obvious and that it has been going on for decades upon decades - it just was as obvious as it is now

(Kinda like falling from a building where the fall seems to speed up the closer to the ground you go).

pbird, what's your problem with Mormons?

I'm not one, but the ones I've known are all very honest. They're genuinely good people. You would be lucky to have one for your neighbor.

One more thing: whether you believe their catechism or not (I don't) doesn't matter. They are good people — and that church is about the only real, honest, truly AMERICAN church there is. It was conceived in American culture, and it has real American values.

OK, that's my Mormon rant. Now for Glenn Beck:

Gerard is right: Beck is not a scaremonger or any of the other pejoratives he's labeled with. He is very level-headed. He sees the direction society and the world are headed, and it ain't pretty.

So the question becomes: what do we do about it?

Answer: we do all we can to resist. Do NOT be 'politically correct'. Fight back. Speak up when some vacant head-nodders repeat what they heard on the nightly news. Set them straight! When someone mentions "global warming" (or the new term "climate change", since global warming STOPPED almost 20 years ago), tell them that debunked nonsense is intended to pass a 'carbon' tax: which is every government's wet dream from time immemorial — to tax the air we breathe! And it won't stop there.

Finally, you have to VOTE! No excuses. Because not voting is voting — for someone you really don't want. Remember that Obama would have lost, if the working class had voted like they usually do. But they sat it out last election. Look where that got us.

Beck is right. Evil is never satisfied. Abortion used to be only allowed in the first trimester. Now, they tear apart living babies only hours from birth. That's not pure evil?? That's not premeditated, first-degree murder?? And now, older folks are being told they won't have medical care — becaise of the cost! That won't stop here, either.

If we take this lying down, that's where we will stay — with a boot on our necks, just like Orwell predicted. It's up to each individual to fight back, the best way he can. This really is a life or death struggle.

Smokey, The people in power will not disappear voluntarily.
I think we are past the point where elections will correct anything. Resistance and rebellion including force of arms is what it will take to clean house.
We can sit back and watch as the whole thing implodes and then move in to pick up the pieces;
there are enough enemies of the State both foreign and domestic to ensure this happening.

We can gather a force strong enough to overthrow the current regime but that has its drawbacks. Such a large scale of resistance requires a force greater than the current regime. Who will protect us from the liberators?
Better we start resisting on a local level, gathering momentum and support as we go. The state level is the place to start, the logistics are manageable.
4GW must be used if we hope to gain anything.

The various redoubts across the country are to be utilized.

"Because not voting is voting...."
=========================

Oh dear.
And atheism is a religion.
You can't reason with people like this.
The gov't indoctrination and fear mongering runs too deep.
That's disappointing.

Mormanism is a curious blend of the Christian, the Hebrew, the Mason, and the Scientologist. Not for me. But the fact is that they are the most successful force at making superior families left in the US.

And Beck never proselytizes. His interest is the American interest although he does not always see things my way, poor man.

Beck was much more effective when he was teaching and educating while on Fox, many had no idea of our past history. . . .especially regarding progressives.

I predicted his fall from grace {sorta speaking} when I first noticed a tilt toward his preaching. Our Country is in a bad way, it's been heading that way for decades, in the last seven years we have been on a fast track glide path. While fixing the problem may take some divine intervention, for the most part I would suggest we start with "pitch forks and rifles".

The ruling class has no intention of doing the right thing as a matter of principle. That includes both parties. This bastard that now occupies the White House should've been impeached a dozen times over. There is no opposition party anymore.
