When the engineer/president of one of the largest steel building constructors (international) in the world tells me face-to-face that he cannot explain any of the structural failures of the incident, I'm inclined to believe that there was something very wrong with the 'official' explanation...a fabrication of falsehoods, distortions, and intentional ignorance of an unprecedented scope.

I neglected to add an incidental piece of information provided by a military doctor (now in private practice) of my acquaintance who was one of the first on the scene at the Pentagon 'event'. He privately stated that he was always 'troubled' (his words, not mine) by the total lack of body parts at the scene of the Pentagon 'event'. None.

No contrary opinion here to the 'official conspiracy theory' (love that pejorative--as if the inclusion in a statement negates or obviates any subsequent statement), just an anecdotal observation from someone who was there and noticed one of the number of inconsistencies that do not add up.

To place the explosives to demolish the buildings would require many man hours of work placing the explosives. These buildings were watched day and night by the security forces put in place by the owners - especially after the 1993 attempt to bomb one of them. No such explosive placement activity has ever been shown/proven to have occurred.

To keep the personnel who placed the explosives and the people who planned and executed the demolition quiet for all these years assumes a much greater level of capability for keeping secrets than the federal government has shown in most of their endeavors.

For those who claim that it was a missile, not an airplane, that hit the Pentagon. Where are the airplane and the passengers today? Again this assumes a cover up far beyond the capability of that clumsy behemoth, our federal government.

The government leaks like a sieve. Keep that in mind when you attribute a masterful secret demolition conspiracy to the Feds.

Whatever happened to Barbara Olsen? I haven't seen her for quite awhile now. I used to see her on TV now and then and she was sharp as a tack and quite attractive, but she seems to have disappeared. Maybe she moved to South America or something.

About a month after 9/11, I received a chain email from a friend listing the "evidence" that proved the Pentagon attack was a fraud - there was no plane, etc. I passed it on to another friend, who forwarded it to his sister who lived outside of and worked in Washington D.C. She returned a blistering email to him, which he forwarded to me, wondering what kind of lunatic would start that kind of rumor, and what kind of idiots would believe it enough to pass it on. Her au pair was traumatized after witnessing the plane crashing into the Pentagon.

The most persuasive and convincing argument to me that Islamic murderers were the cause of 9/11/01, is that a secret like that requires the total silence of at least several hundred conspirators — if not thousands — and has held together for 14 years without a single conspirator breaking the silence. My understanding of human nature completely rules out that posssibility. There is just no way.

Some folks believe the moon landings were faked, too, and you can't change their minds. They always have their 'reasons'. And the Rev. Harold Camping had lots of followers a few years ago, believing that the end of the world was scheduled for a particular date and time. When it didn't happen, did they admit they were wrong?

And in the 1950's the famous psychologist Dr. Leon Festinger wrote about a cult called the 'Seekers'. The 'Seekers' believed that a flying saucer would arrive on a certain date and time, saving them while the Earth and everyone left on it was destroyed (flying saucer sightings were a big thing in the '50's)

But when the flying saucer didn't arrive, it was the same story: the 'Seekers' doubled down, and bet all their worldly possessions that their cult leader, 'Mrs. Keech', had simply made a mistake in her calculations. They accepted her assurance of the flying saucer's re-scheduled arrival. Well, dang! Wrong again. No flying saucer ever arrived, and the Earth is still here.

Now some folks are absolutely convinced that 9/11 was (and still is) a giant government conspiracy. Human nature being what it is, no one will ever convince them they might be mistaken. They are 100.0% certain that the U.S. government was behind 9/11.

I was certain however that many would lack the intellectual curiosity and attention span necessary to both view and understand the references posted. In this regard I have not been proven wrong, at least in the example at hand.

Start with WTC 7. Watch the collapse. Without prejudice, ask yourself how likely it is the building collapsed symmetrically at near free fall speed due to "normal" office fires. Then listen to the debate between Ron Craig and Richard Gage. For the longest time, I refused to entertain any idea counter the official story. I became enraged at the suggestion the truth could deviate in any way from what we had been told. I thought all debate was simply partisan politics. An alternate conspiracy theory was unthinkable. I had forgotten about WTC 7. Take a dispassionate look at the facts, the rest is all speculation.

I think a really good place to start is not with a discussion of the buildings – we can argue about that until the cows come home. No, a really good place to start is you guys telling us where the passengers on those planes are. Dead? (most assuredly) Really? How do you know that? How did they die? Who killed them? When did that happen? Were the pilots really secret government agents bent on committing suicide? No fair glossing over the subject and then quickly moving on to ‘the buildings’. Give us specifics and tell us exactly what happened to the passengers. Then, and only then, we can talk.
And no, Itor, it is not a lack of intellectual curiosity that is preventing me from wading through this nonsense yet again; I’ve already seen many of the arguments and counter arguments.
