Dave Winer's Got Questions, We've Got Answers

GvdL, who the hell IS this Whiner guy? Is he in any way important, or just another asshole eating up bandwidth?

Mr. Winer is known for: 'I invented blogging, dammit!; "My web pages hold the most complete collection of outlining software from the 1980s, damnit"; "I recently decided to kill 3,000 weblogs without warning to those that made them, damnit!;" "I invented RSS, worship me of be damned, damnit!;" "Apache, used to be c'est moi, damnit!;" "This is my 4,52nd day of not smoking, damnit;" and "Le tout blogdom c'est moi, zoot!" He recently announced that he would move to a swing state so his vote mattered, but Massachusetts has not yet seen the last of him.

He may be found at http;//scriptingnews.com.

As you may have gathered he is one of my unhealthy obsessions and, except for taunting email from the evil one, I can quit anytime.

And yes he does consume more bandwidth than is healthy for the web.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be right.

Blog, blog! What is blog!? -- a misquote from a Star Trek Episode.

Short answer: bandwidth-eating asshole. As with the crazed Andrew Sullivan and Bill "Jackass" O'Reilly, I spurn him with my mouse. May his hit counter slow to zero.

You'v got that right. Rarely has an opportunity been squandered more consistently than by O Reilly.
