Notes from the Underground 10

"Mystery bright spots could be first glimpse of another universe"

This sort of a replay of a similar incident from a year ago, which, in all fairness, is described in the article, where the investigators announced that had seen evidence for some wonderful cosmological phenomenon in the background radiation. It turned out to be dust. Most likely, this one is too.

But, this leads to a deeper issue:

Cosmic background radiation, black holes, dark matter, dark energy -- the anti-religious who lean on science the way a drunk leans on a lamppost (for support, not illumination), always bring up the unseen in their effort to drive God out of the world. Why is the atheist's belief in the unseen and unseeable more reasonable that our belief in the One "whose glory is revealed in the heavens above, and whose greatness is manifest throughout the world."
