Tracking the New Hook Hooks

Naive, gullible, and easily led. (to the FEMA camps)

Yeah I suppose. Where it's true than it seems to be true. But often it is attempted and fails. So is it as simple as implied? As it relates to music (of which I am no expert) I find that often I will hear a new song and like it. Then I search Youtube for other songs by that artists and pretty much don't care for them. Yet I assume the artist intended all the songs to be good and to sell. How often does a singer release an album and only one or two songs are ever played from it? Now as this does not relate to music I find that when a writer or speaker tries to be different or excessively chatty you have to read/listen for quite awhile to even figure out what the point is and you begin to feel played. Played as in a website that has three sentences on a subject but you have to click to see the rest. So you click and you get an ad and the rest fails to live up to the hype/hook. So is it wise to choose to not spend more time if the author/artist cannot develop our interest in the first ten seconds?
