[Bumped] The Meltdown on the Right or "Oh my, whatever shall we do with the Donald?"

Trump is not the most to the right.

Posted by Dustin Havens at May 17, 2016 10:52 AM

Try reading the Scott Adams post you linked in the right column. This (overly lengthy & emotional) argument fails because Trump is not discernibly Right in any positive sense, though he does seem to authentically embody several unfortunate late-19th-century irrational and negative impulses widely misidentified as being intrinsic to the Right.

Posted by David Zincavage at May 17, 2016 10:53 AM

Let's see. Against Clinton or Saunders we have the assertion that "Trump is not most to the right"

Explain to me why that is.

Posted by vanderleun at May 17, 2016 11:03 AM

I just wann’a hear the Jackwagons say that they’ll be voting for Hillary. Go ahead, say it. Don’t be a pussy, say it.

And no Pussy, not voting doesn’t abscond you of jackshit. Not voting is in fact a vote for Hillary. (Just like it was for Obama, when all you pussies who couldn’t locate your balls and vote for Romney. Thanks again for that.)

Posted by tim at May 17, 2016 11:50 AM

Could you please explain which of Hillary's donor's policy pronouncements you find the most "right"?

Posted by pandelume at May 17, 2016 12:19 PM

Yo tim

That should be "absolve," not "abscond."

Apart from that, you fuckin-A right.

As for the "not my favorite candidate" bullshit, grow the fuck up and pay attention. Trump is the "most right" in the sense of "closest to reality." Failure to recognize that is just further evidence of your infection with relativism.

Jesus.

Ah I remember the good old days of just a few months ago, when the Trump juggernaut told us that his enormous appeal crossed all divides and he didn't need those conservative jerks with all their principles.

Now, not so much. And the Trump fans damp with flop sweat start hollering at us to get in line otherwise *****HILLARY*****.

Sorry, no. Ask some of your crossover-appeal friends for their votes if you think you're coming up short.

Posted by pandelume at May 17, 2016 12:35 PM

Is the picture of the crying former speaker saying he didn't get his way an attempt at irony? As I recall, he called Cruz "Lucifer" and talked about how he enjoyed tweeting with his golfing buddy Trump. Seriously, do you folks even read what you post?

Posted by jscd3 at May 17, 2016 1:19 PM

Fuck.
Your.
Principles.

======================

Fuck you.
Lack of principles is why we're where we are.
And you're solution is to provide even MORE lack of principles?

This proves what I've said all along.
It's NOT the politicians that are wrong with this country.
It's the GODDAM votists!
They are just plain stupid and always will be.

This is why I live way back here in the sticks, far away from society, knowing full well that "out there" is a world slammed with idiots and criminals, things I'll have no part of.

It can all go to hell tomorrow but my conscience will be clear.

Is yours?

Posted by ghostsniper at May 17, 2016 2:51 PM

I'm not right or left, I'm American. As in the Declaration, Constitution, the unbelievable agony of the Civil War, the Union of the States. Hillary is a sleazy one-world lefty trying to lead us to a completely different place. Trump is neither right nor left, just an authoritarian master persuader (just ask Scott Adams) in it for himself, with no appreciation of what it means to be American except in a narrow territorial sense. Trump's Chumps seem awfully willing to be persuaded that the excrement smells like a rose.
If I have to write in another name, I will do so, can't vote for either of these disgraces, I will not choose my poison. Let the rest of you fools pick between them. I wasn't responsible for Obama, either.

I wasn't responsible for Obama, either.

Well, that must be a terrific comfort to you. Who'd you vote for?

Posted by Rob De Witt at May 17, 2016 11:33 PM

I should like all of you Principled Purists to post the names of politicians, past or present, who were sufficiently Purely Principled for you, and why.

Then I will tell you whey they too were in fact not very Pure and why Vanderleun, which whom I often disagree, is 100% correct in this post.

Trump is indeed a crawling weevil in the flour, but he is small compared to Hillary.

Always choose the lesser of two weevils.

Posted by Fred Z at May 18, 2016 5:12 AM

@Fred Z, where in the world did you get the idea that there has ever been a principled US politician?

When a politician places property rights above all else, let me know and maybe I'll vote for him.

Until then I'll have nothing to do with your criminal activities.

Posted by ghostsniper at May 18, 2016 7:30 AM

It is going to be a landslide.

Which one do you want appointing Four Supreme Court Justices?

Principles without political power is posing and preening.

Based on presidents past Trump is good enough for the Republic and far superior to any viable alternative.

There is war now.

There will be war. If Hillary or Saunders become our beloved leader it will continue, as it has over the Obama years, more American lives will be lost and nothing gained.

There will be war. If Donald is elected president America has at least a good chance of winning and ending it.

Sorry left, right, pajama boy, knuckle dragger, poof, he-man, Damnocrat, Republican, Libertarian, I stand for America. I grew up in an America that I would like my grandchildren to be able to enjoy.

For that to happen America and American ideals need to win. Period.

Winning Trumps principals.

Remember back in the day, when they said that B movie actor, the one that did the movie with the chimp wasn't qualified to be governor? Then he wasn't qualified to be a President? Then, when he died, those same folks declared him Saint Ronnie and now no one is pure enough to follow in his footsteps.

It doesn't much matter what the wannabe elites want. The dirt people are roused and they are fed up. It will be a landslide, so you can jump on board or spend the next four years bellyaching.

Posted by Teri Pittman at May 18, 2016 3:23 PM

As Andrew Brietbart so famously said to the left and the cucks, "Fuck you. War."

Posted by vanderleun at May 18, 2016 7:36 PM

I wasn't going to vote for president in November this year. But after Mitt Romney told me not vote for Trump, I decided to vote for Trump. I don't care. If it pisses off people like Kristol and Romney, it can't be all bad.

Posted by Browncoat at May 18, 2016 10:14 PM

Specifics.

Everybody wants to continue to kick the can down the road.

Nobody has the nuts or the intellectual acuity to admit what they know in their very being what is wrong and what needs to be done.

I'll presume there is a certain level of cuckness in all and the horror of the necessity is avoided by all but in the darkest regions of their minds late at night when no one else is around, and then, only fleetingly.

The system was doomed to fail from the beginning, it was flawed from the gitgo.

One more time, you can not build a country based in crime.

You can not ask people to contribute to their own suicide.

Trump, klintin, sanders, whoever, is hope from the votists for more kicking the can down the road.

When any of those people, or anyone else, is elected, except for god himself if he is real, the can and the road will no longer exist the great leveling will start.

~ The time is now ~

I guess we'll see about all that. But one observation among these many is:
We needed George Patton and Chesty Puller, and they gave us Wesley gdam Clark and diversity training. Shock and Awe my ass.

Your enemy is tribal and worships mythology.
Your enemy cannot bend to reason or logic.
Your enemy is envious, jealous, and conniving.
Your enemy is philosophy and people.
Your enemy is training to kill you.

So go ahead with your plans for a principled stance, do not fight the enemy or even work for his defeat. Stick your thumb in your mouth and pout if that makes you comfy. Cuck.

One of the two front-runners will be elected President; no one will appear from the mists and withdraw Excaliber from the stone. We have those two choices and neither are perfect, but one (the career Lenninist politician with a trail of imperial decisions and dead bodies behind her) will take a giant s**t on liberty, while the other one has a chance to do some repair. And build a damned wall.

Choose your weapons because the enemy has his in hand.

From where I sit in the woods, it appears as though most thinkers are upset. Upset with others and mad with themselves, mostly for standing by while our republic degraded to its current condition. Now, suddenly so very concerned that we feel strongly obligated to instruct others as to how they should vote.
In order to comply with the need so strongly felt, I suggest voting for: Term Limits.

Posted by Dave J at May 19, 2016 6:51 AM

I am voting for Mr. Trump because he makes me laugh. Seriously, he is funny and has made this election cycle fun. Ask any woman. The fella who makes her laugh is the good guy.

That, and all of his platform planks are conservative -- in many ways even more so than the #NeverTrump morons who run around telling everyone how "conservative" they are. Oh, and I'm a Christian woman who reads the Bible. The Gospels were very clear about not acting the Pharisee.

The re-virgined GOP makes me laugh. They are the whore who, having agreed to McCain or Romney in the face of the populist juggernaut are now dismayed to see the price go so low as Trump. Now they're all virtuous and principled. Before they were all about the valuable cash prizes they were going to get for their whoredoms. Trump is going to bugger them for free and make them pay him.

Posted by Joan of Argghh! at May 19, 2016 4:59 PM

Gary Johnson polled at 11% when his name was added to a recent poll. It may have been one state, I can't remember, I was drinking at the time. He is more to the right and the libertarian party is on the ballot in enough states that if they win the right ones the election could be thrown into the house. In the house it would be anyones guess who might win, neither Hillary or Trump is liked by any of them in either party. Johnson could be a compromise. Yes yes I know that is so unlikely to happen I may as well wish for a unicorn.

Posted by Alleged Accomplice at May 19, 2016 8:35 PM

Principles, shrinpicles.

Some choices are complicated, this is not one of them; it's quite binary - one is worser than the other and you only get one choice.
