"There Is a Crack in Everything. That's How the Light Gets In."

God, how I hate this guy. Positively unlistenable. (spellcheck says that's not a word, but I'm using it anyway) Only people I ever knew who liked him were hippie chicks in college.

If you didn't listen, how do you know you hated him? I hope you didn't have a "hippie chick" problem in college?

Anyway, in regards to the upper frame, I am reminded of verses from the Scripture.

"In the beginning", "Then God said 'let there be light'; and there was light." Gen 1:1+3.

Amusing. One of the regulars at the crash pad had Cohen albums, and depending who was present, they could be played. I found them dull, but then again, I had had the Tom Wait's experience by that time, and was becoming a fan. "what?!?, no, no, no Tom Waits, no Zappa!", the hippie chicks would howl. I could always win them back with some CSNY and good hash, though.

I like the lyrics, but like Michel Legrand, he grates as a singer.
