Comments: If U.S. bombs and missiles rain down on Damascus, to the cheers of the C-Street Pattons,

In 2009, the new American president with the Muslim background appeared in Cairo, and talked about a new beginning. He liked on the Muslim Brotherhood, and like dominoes, Mid East nations with strong-arm rulers began to fall. Some teetered close to the edge, like Egypt. Some fell into chaos, like Libya and Somalia. Some are still in the balance, like Syria. Some are at risk, like Turkey.
PB asks the right questions, for the most part. When the authorities in these nations are gone, who will fill the gap? It's a time honored play: chaos is followed by the insurgent win. ISIS.
Today: Obama supports the insurgency in Syria, against the Syrian president. I wonder who will come to power after Assad loses power (if he does)? It's a grand lose-lose for Washington. We get ISIS in Syria, or we get Russia rising. Nice going, Obama. Almost as if you planned it this way.

If the Russians and the US have a go at it and get a big furball over Syria, that should tell us how good out pilots are and ow good our planes are.

At that point, the bragging rights are up for grabs.

I forget -- since the soviet union fell, why are we still big on getting rid of Assad?

We shouldn't get rid of Assad. That's what I was saying. He is a bulwark (a fucking smelly, shit-pants bulwark, but still) against ISIS. Obama is putting us on the wrong side in his Syrian campaign. The outcome is we are closer to war with Russia, who are resurgent and, in the final conclusion, are recidivous on the Crimean War. By that I mean they want to have their say, in whatever form that takes, in the Bos. Straits. It is why they are pushing Turkey.
And, of course, this makes me a war monger, doesn't it? The article by Pat Buchanan, who is so conservative he wrote about why we should have avoided fighting in WW II, takes a hard line isolationist stance. No war with Russia under any circumstances. But, the outcome of that position is then Russia gets to acquire lands that don't belong to them, a la 18th Century war methodology. Just like Obama signaled they were doing.
Obama knows way more than you think he does. He is a Man. Churian. Can. Did. Date.
I almost forgot: Obama gets to support ISIS in their goals at the same time, It's a two fer.
