And Away We Go!

I don't know either, I doubt they are worried at RISD, though.

"Life During Wartime" = what large enough amounts of cocaine for long enough will do.

Hummmm.... probably won't have enough in the shelter. Budget problem.

But remember, ammo will get you through times without coke better than coke will get you through times without ammo.

"Today it's back and I don't think it's going away."

I've got the same disease and for me it was expressed best by Joseph Conrad in his novel, The Heart of Darkness.

"The reaches opened before us and closed behind, as if the forest had stepped leisurely across the water to bar the way for our return. We penetrated deeper and deeper into the heart of darkness."

Mr. V. It's a whole lot easier for us who never stopped believing in Santa or an omnipotent God -- athiest or believer, you can have what you want.

It'll be okay. It'll be better than that. It'll be 'GREAT!', again. And even if it's not, you can pretend it is until you're sure that it isn't. Why waste all that time with dread when you could have joy?

Well you can rejoice when the Hildabeast is elected then.

Maarcus Luttrell's speech - and this, the Donald's entrance to the convention (1 minute) - defined the current moment for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_v1FwosV_U

One's attitude about current events depends largely on the platform from which observation occurs. The medium is the 'massage'. If its Fox (or any network) you likely walk away with neo neo's takeaway. I watched the first two nights on the official RNC live stream on YT and must say I'm somewhat heartened to see the hated Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan in full harness - along with many, many others.

In other words, its better to not listen to others telling you what you just saw/heard - unless, of course, its Vanderleun.

Nicely done, Gerard.

Exactamundo. To quote Ian Fleming, of all people, "Worry is a dividend paid to disaster before it's due."

With all due respect Rob, I'm now sure that it isn't. The disaster is already here.

Lock and load.

Denny,

I hear you, believe me.

I'm pretty much crippled, living on SS, coming back as a singer and doing what I can. When the assholes get in my face they receive a nice surprise - mostly because up until that time they see me laughing and having fun.

Fuck 'em, but give 'em my life by renting 'em space in my head? Not a chance.

Thanks Rob, I understand. It is sinful to despair and lose ALL faith and hope.

Sometimes though, honest and realistic foreboding is like a good blues song. It's comforting to know there are others in your same tent.
