Born to be Wild. Daytona BikeWeek Theme Song. Stop more than 30 minutes at most any biker den and you'll hear it. Or blasting out of the faring speakers as a rumbling Harley goes by. Ubiquitous.

Sitting here listening to it with my 21 year old and I cannot believe she has never heard this song! A staggering failure on my part! Love the flash/crash, but especially "Born to be Mild", ah to live long enough for some sense to catch up!

In those days we were immortal. Even as those around us passed on by OD's, accidents under the influence, etc. we continued on "hellbent for vinyl", firing "all guns at once, exploding into space". It was "everything all the time", and it was definitely "better to burnout than rust".

As Wm. Blake said, "the palace of wisdom is reached by the road of excess". I learned so much then, most not great, but some soul and heart opening moments I would never trade.
