Is this museum right next to the white peoples museum ?

Museum of Negro history and culture. Great contributions to Western Civilization:
Jazz. ugh.
R&B. more ugh.
Soul. see jazz.
Rap.
Sportsball stars and entertainers: overpaid clowns.
Oh, but there's George Washington Carver who made shoe polish from peanuts.
And Martin Luther King who made speeches to negroes.

JWM, ain't that a bitch. Martin Luther King gave up his life so all de white folk could get another paid holiday while all the step n' fetch-it fools jes get to collect another day's welfare money. Doan even get no paid holiday extras or sumptin.

That Woodchuck always turns lemons into lemonade.

I wonder if the museum describes all the American blacks who earned military honors defending the country of their enslavement. And do they list those who died on duty, disdained for their honest efforts as medical, EMS, PD, FD, ... personnel.

JWM,
Jazz is not so bad. Stan Getz and his tenor sax makes for some nice music. He played with various trios and other musicians (black and white) over his lifetime. Most of it is good stuff. I easily concede that rap and hip hop is not just worthless, but destructive to any culture.

The photo of Michelle and W together is cringe worthy. Imagine how many conversations the Obamas have had together badmouthing W. Then for the cameras she plays nice with him. Makes me want to throw up a little bit.

Actually I have tried hard to like jazz. I've had friends who were huge fans. They always told me that since I could learn to like Mozart (it took some effort but I did finally gain the appreciation) that jazz would be relatively easy. I just had to find the right album. Never made it. It's like fish, carrots, or rutabaga. Never could get a taste for it.

Same here jwm, and it just never resonated with me, disappointingly. Even when mostly drunk I didn't care for it.

Seems like too many people, and they're all doing something different, and none of it lines up. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be?

And Bush said, "Is that a pencil in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?".

Re: the Michelle/W friendship thing -- I really don't know. Obviously she's very two-faced, and I wouldn't trust her farther than I could throw her.

But on the other hand, she lives with Obama. Even she can't vacation away from him all the time. And if you had to live with Obama, of course W would start looking very attractive as a father and friend figure. Life with a narcissist is no picnic, I'm sure. I think W understands that and treats her kindly.

The telling thing is that, when she looks at W, she actually allows herself to smile and look attractively human. You get a glimpse of the much-happier woman she could have been.
