On a gathering storm comes / A tall handsome man In a dusty black coat with / A red right hand

This is used as the theme to the show Peaky Blinders. Dumb name, excellent show.

Mumblix, you're right.

Peaky Blinders was an excellent tale, the cast was stellar and the gang's name is explained here:

I didn't care all that much for the so-called theme song though.

Hmmmm, yes, a gathering storm. I've watched slumping toward us from the battlements for 7 decades now. So now it has come... sigh... OK then, maybe all that training at Parris Island and Camp Geiger will now come in handy. I detest it, but I won't shirk from it either, that it has come to this. But we knew all along where this was heading, didn't we. Didn't we? I had hoped to postpone it until my golden years had passed and until I was a fond memory among the living.

But, it comes. So let me get my creaking bones and joints limbered up, once again remove that thin layer of "civilization" and put on my game face. I'm too old for this, if not me, then who? If not us, then who?

Damn! I hate it. But bring it on, if they must.

@ Bill in Tennessee - I am with you my friend, including the seven decades of waiting and watching. Keep your rifle and ammo close by. Should be fun.

Tried watching Peaky Blinders. I thought it was awful. Love Nick Cave though.

The 60s / 70s were a time of near-revolution that never quite made it to full boil. It was worse, and is certainly is our measuring tool against which we compare today.

The creepy part is all of those muthas from the 70s are now bureaucrats. They give succor to the Muslim Ts because of their shared America hate. re: Muslims leading feminist marches in the headlines.
