Greetings: My dad, Amos Bethke, who worked for the company for many years, set the type face up after being requested to do so by Time & Life exec's. Printing was his avocation and hobby. He had his old Washington style press in the basement of his home. He thought Caslon 471 was the most elegant and beautiful type face ever designed by man. His son, Peter and our offspring are very proud of his accomplishment. I have his original encased type layout and it pleases me very much when I look at it.
