Farewell from the Greatest President America Ever Had

The greatest American who ever lived. At the end of the French Revolution there rose Napoleon and Europe was torn by war for 20 years. At the end of the Russian Revolution there rose Stalin and millions of Russians died at his hands. After the American Revolution there rose Washington, the man who refused to be King, who shamed his officers when they wanted him to sieze power, who served faithfully and selflessly the country that he loved and helped create. And that wonderful country has allowed more men to live enjoying the blessings of liberty than all the other nations of the world combined. How far we have fallen from such men, to look at the foul creatures that crowd our current political scene!

But perhaps God will have mercy on us again, as in those olden days. Perhaps if we turn to Him again He will restore the years that the locusts of our desires have destroyed: “Even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love..." Joel 2:12-13
