Perpetual childhood is learned from perpetual parents

Right on. I'm encouraged to see that there are still some liberals who don't just sign petitions falsely. Under Obama or Hillary, they'd just sign the thing falsely, and not go door to door after real sigs. It's progress, huh?

Jesus.

Just spray 'em and hope we can contain the infestation.

That should be funny... but they actually got this scam passed into law, here in nutty CA.

Now we have to bring our own bags to the store, but you can still BUY plastic bags; the proceeds go, of course, to the politicians.

Isn't it great to prevent "pelican cancer."

Eskyman: your CA story is epic. Truly, I cannot imagine buying the thing the store used to give as a convenience to get you to shop there. There ought to be a black market for paper grocery bags there.

Shit. We're lucky the fucking politicians let us buy food at all. Here in WA state my goddamned governor is wholesale slipping us the socialism, and making a grandstand name for himself while he's at it. Oops. Did I say that?

Well Casey, in Snohomish county they still give out the bags free. Wonder for how long.
PS the Gov is an idiot and the mayor of Seattle is worse.

pbird:
I reckon the only worse governor is the deadeye b itch from Oregon. Is she sending her killer patrol to rub out any pipeline protesters? I guess if they wore cowboy hats...

Going to a grocery store has become an effort in rage suppression. Wait. While some woman fumbles for her greasy wad of used bags. Wait. While the box-*person* sorts out the mess, and tries to fit all the stuff in. Wait. For the smart chip card reader. Cash back? ("gosh, I don't know.. Yes!) Wait. While the box *person* hands the filthy mess back to the customer who fumbles it into the cart. But then there wasn't enough room for all the stuff. "Do you want to buy a bag?"

Worse are the people who actually LOVE THIS SHIT! because, you know- they're saving the Earth.

I semi-remember when grocery stores would put your purchases in a boxes the groceries came in. Kept the trash level down for the grocery and recycled the boxes, too (at least to the customers' trash).

Do any places in Oregon or similar woebegone political districts allow for using such boxes? Do things come in sturdy enough boxes to do this?

When I was 15 I could bag like a sonofabitch.

Boxes have been recycled for decades.Back in the early 80s I worked at Dillons/Kroger through high school and college. We had a large box "muncher". It would compress a couple hundred boxes or so into a giant wire wrapped cardboard brick that took a couple motivated young men to move. Once the delivery truck unloaded new groceries, we would use a power jack to load these bricks back into the trailer.

Cash and Carry reuses the boxes. No bags there.
