A Desert Called Glass by Author Unknown

Plausable.

I remember in 1982 oir 83 a friend in college, a combat veteran (since passed) wrote a short piece about first strike against USSR; endorsing it. What followed was the military buildup and eventual collapse of the Soviet Union. Dave's writing was daring and reflective of someone that had just about had it with the constant fear that was so common during the cold war. some react to fear by pre-emptive surrender, others more brave move to destroy the source of fear - kill the mean dog if you will.

This particular piece reminds me of those times and Dave's writing. It's good. The brave who wish to not live under constant threat and encroachments upon their way of life may be reaching an emotional critical mass wherein a move to eliminate the source is growing.

I call this good, really very good.

Remember at the end when God asks us what has become of his children who call him Allah there are 3 answers.

Here they are or we did everything we could are acceptable.

They pissed us off is not.

My fear; my nightmare scenario is that Iran or one of the other Middle East Muslim countries will nuke Israel. Perhaps a single nuke smuggled in by terrorists or a number of nukes rocketed in by Iran. That of course all by itself is a nightmare but what happens next is what this story described. Israel has nukes of course; could be 80 or it could be 180 of them who knows. But if they are attacked by Iran or Pakistan or Muslim terrorists supported by one of these Muslim states they will retaliate. At that point the only hope for the rest of the world is that it ends there. But once you let slip the dogs of war...

DaveA:

There is another answer, a bit more complicated. "We got sick to the stomach of enduring continual misery and war, murder, rape, enslavement and destruction of us and our Hindu brothers, for close on 1400 years. We decided to end it."

other than warmongering and comic relief, you neo-conz aren't good for much. This post covers the latter.

and BTW, people who nuke other people are going to get nuked in return. 'Murka got away with it in '45. There'll be no second time.

I'm baffled by the bloodlust by people that have no vested interest. Seems more like herd mentality by people too lazy to think a couple steps ahead.

Hax: 'Murka'? The Cheesy Leftist Tropes Anonymous meeting is on the second floor, first door on the left.

Ghost....what do you mean by saying that you are baffled by the blood lust of people with no vested interests?

Maybe I'm not reading you right, but every person on this earth has a vested interest in seeing the destruction of islam and its adherents.

And after years of enduring those fuckers, who have no intention at all in changing and living in peace, the world wide blood lust of those who would happily do whatever is required to eradicate them is developing and may well be required.

Personally, I would love to see a world devoid of islam, all of its followers and the destruction of everything associated with it. Just like the Nazis and those of the Stalinist eras, the world would do itself a favor if it would obliterate every trace of them.

@Jack, there are 100,000 maniacal tyrants between me and any muslim.

I don't think that I've ever seen a muslim in person. But I see tyrants that are paid to kill me, all the time.

"Islam and it's adherents" are way down toward the bottom of the list of things I consider dangerous.

Perspective please.

It only takes a tiny minority of Moslem fanatics - just one, actually, to outdo 1000 tyrants holding the reins of power. The tyrants are reasonable in comparison to the lone wolf. One 20 year old consanguinated, goathumping troglodyte can ram his American truck into a sidewalk fulla infidels. Dozens dead. No shots fired. No bomb 'sploded. They are hardly down the list.
Of course, the bigger enemy is the Manipulator of Perception and Soothful Sayings. When we get around to realizing it.

Are you familiar with the term *situational awareness*?

How about this one, *avoid crowds*.

A lot of people, it seems, prefer to make life far more complicated than necessary and I have no idea why.

You can think logically or you can run around terrified. Your choice.

Thanx for the H/T and re-print. I've had that story for quite some time.

About our ME wars I've always said: We bombed the wrong fuckers.

We should've nuked (or at least FAEs) Mecca, Medina  and Tehran.

The world would be a much happier place.

Oh and to those who pooh-pooh the danger ("way down on my list", et al) remember this:

1.5 BILLION of those bastards on the planet right now.  If only 1% (very low estimate) is radical that makes 15 MILLION goatfuckers salivating at the chance to kill and/or enslave you.

All I ever needed to know about Islam I learned on 9/11.
