What part of "shall not be abridged" does this scholar not understand?

"Guns in playgrounds, guns in bars". What he doesn't understand is that it is the restrictions that are obscene not the freedom. It is the restrictions that have been thought up by politicians and people who would control and limit us that is wrong. I carry a knife everywhere I go. A knife can kill you in a second (well it can cut your jugular in a second and you will die in a minute or two). I can carry it anywhere except into a courthouse or a plane. It is just as deadly as a gun and in some cases more so. Either adults can be trusted with a knife or they cannot. In my state we can be trusted to carry a knife and a gun. But I cannot carry the gun into a school because people like the author thinks that normal people who can be trusted to carry a gun or a knife suddenly after crossing the school threshold change into a monster or something. It is sad and depressing to think that these are the very same people who usually choose politics as their vocation.
I might add that I am also denied the right to carry a gun into some stores and restaurants but as I understand the law this would be a "civil request" which could only be enforced by asking me to leave after they discovered I actually had a gun. That it is not a crime or act that can result in any kind of prosecution. So I ignore the sign.
