Comments: Another bright soul notices how awful The Big Bang Theory Has Become

Stop the presses!! Television is stupid.

Who knew?

TBBT, just more negative portrayal of white males.

Caught a minute or 2 while channel scanning and it, like most other stuff on the toob, is catered to the *barely there* types.

None for me, thanks, I'll find something else to do, something a little more engaging.

If a television is in a home, a fool will watch it.

"Friends"...

with Nerds.

Actually the show is reflective of what a majority of manbunned, tatted and pierced American males have become, without the intellect.

They are one sorry statement but they do reflect the times.

Big Bang is often pretty damn funny. The crew at ESR are way out there intellectually but probably resent the social stereotypes the show satirizes.

Never seen it, so have to ask here. Can I presume all the males carry overgrown five o'clock shadows?

It's a comedy. It is simply funny. Not brilliant. Not masculine or over the top in any way. It is merely a comedy that was created on top of a situation that the writers believed would give them a lot to write about that would be funny. Sometimes it's pretty damned good and other times it's just funny.

Posted by GoneWithTheWind at March 28, 2017 1:40 PM

The show would be far less funny, at least to a general audience, if the actors actually portrayed geniuses in anything approaching a realistic manner. It is quite intentional that they portray, not the reality, but the *stereotype* of nerds (not geniuses, but nerds). If you don't get that, then you're missing the point.

It's like that entertainer Bill Nye, "The Science Guy". He's not there to portray anything like a real scientist. He's there to portray the stereotype of a scientist. His not being a real scientist makes his job that much easier.

Sitting around watching fags crack little gurl jokes isn't my idea of fun.

Maybe that rumor about estrogen in the water supplies is true.

Now put your pussy hat back on and go git yer shine box!

Haven't seen any fags cracking little girl jokes on that show, have seen a couple of top-notch physicists making guest appearances. Some of the humor may be too subtle for some, but it's holding up pretty well. Different strokes for different folks so fuck off Ghost.

The main component is a proud fag, now go back to your addiction asshole.

Your right Ghost, the guy that plays Sheldon is gay - but he's also one hell of an actor and his character isn't gay just very OCD. I suppose you could say Raj acts gay, but in reality he's married to Miss India, so much for stereotypes. Back to your bunker kid.

Ghost, Didn't mean to get into a pissing match. I happen to enjoy Big Bang. Having worked in the sciences as well as more mundane endeavors, I've seen some of those characters in action. Most TV is crap but arguing about it is like arguing about guns; I like the old .30 carbine, you may prefer an AR. 1911s are cool, but the 1860 Colt Army is the most beautiful gun in the world.

Posted by Old Surfer at March 30, 2017 11:09 AM

I think you got it right, Old Surfer.
