Comments: "The truth is too holy, too sacred for words."

Maybe that's why Jesus said, "He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it." Matt 10:39

One cannot put war into words. A battle isn't words, it is in the senses. It is the sounds of the dying calling out, the noise the smell of burnt flesh, of blood, piss and exposed bowels. It's the cordite, and incidental fires started from the numerous rounds that landed. It's seeing a leg with no body attached or the vacant stare of dead eyes.
All this comes through ears deafened by the compounded roar of detonating incoming and the rattle of small arms.

What words express that? If you haven't lived through it, you'll never know for words cannot convey that ugliness, that cannot be removed from your mind. That bell was rung...

Jesus also said, "This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."

The greatest Japanese swordsman of all time, Miyamoto Musashi, once said that the way of the warrior was the resolute acceptance of death in the service to his master.

Not sure why, but it made me think of Jesus.
