You're going to lose all your cucks and corporatist tools with an attitude like that, Gerard. ;o)
I got yer "extra care" for you rightcheer!
Somewhere along the way the steak dinners disappeared, seats were compressed, and the smiling, attractive stewardesses were replaced by cashiered prison guards. Otherwise, no change.
My thoughts exactly. A page has turned in our culture.
My optimist hoped that with a revived economy, the airlines would flesh out their schedules and give us back our choices.
Things HAVE changed.
Notice the attire, of the stewardess's and the passenger. They dress like professionals and most likely act the same way.
Compare that to the slobs you see now, passengers and workers, whatever they now call themselves.
Surly, arrogant, short tempered, demanding.
Encyclopedias of rules attempting to assuage poor behavior.
Nobody cares about anything, and nobody cares that nobody cares.
Pressure doesn't always make diamonds, sometimes it makes explosions.
Those ads reflect a long gone era. Some of us remember it as existing before forced integration.
Oh, no, it's much better nowadays when some slob in a t-shirt and cargo shorts drags his backpack that's bigger than he is onboard, taking a whole overhead bin for his stuff he's too precious to check as baggage.
Airports were always a drag but after 9/11 they became, essentially, police stations with airplanes. There will be no joking, no sarcasm, and absolutely no resistance. You will be groped and pushed and any resistance will be met with loss of ticket, money, luggage and an interrogation surrounded by blue-shirt thugs all the while no attorney present. The TSA people are lowest level idiots that have been granted unlimited power to have their way with you. In this atmosphere the airlines continue to ratchet up the abuse. Passengers, or victims, are playthings for the abusive employees, TSA, and armed thugs who are called in when resistance should arise. I haven't flown in 10 years. I drive everywhere I need to go.
