Just Stake Him Out on an Anthill and Be Done with It, Okay?

What do ya got agin reptiles man? Humor aside, I think he's going down. The art thing will smoke
him. I suspect there's a big alumni push on behind the scenes. CU has enough trouble without
the likes of him. I was adding up his take on those prints ... he was pulling an extra 15 - 20K
per year doing that. Add that to his speaker fees and salary and he made a bundle for a prof.
If he didn't invest - he's screwed.

I am still trying to understand the Ward Churchill controversy.

Did he say something that was (1) factually incorrect or did he have (2) an opinion with erroneous reasoning or did he (3) say something that people emotionally disagreed with?

Yes. Yes. And yes. Not only that but he is a
fraud, plagiarist and a self serving asshole.

What is not to understand?

You can *say* anything you want, but free speech isn't always free of consequences.

That alone means you get to stay where you are.

But if you get a job and advancement based on lies on your resume, if you are caught -- in that job -- faking the data on which your work is based, if you are discovered to be something other than you claimed to be -- "I'm not really an indian but I play one on the lecture circuit"-- and if you forge other's creative work and sign it as your own, then you are a liar, a cheat, a fake, a fraud, and a thief.

Most people and companies regard these things as offenses for which firing is the solution.

Steel:

Not only is the alum trying to get rid of him, so are the faculty. One of my brothers is a department chair at the Denver campus, and he notes that the Imposter Indian, combined with the sexual proclivity of the "student athletes" at the Boulder campus, has made fund-raising a difficult proposition for the entire university.

So you see, the pontificating poseur is beginning to have an impact on programs that would benefit the students who go to the school to actually learn something useful that will help them in life--which is quite different from the hate-mongering preached at the Boulder campus by Chief Wanna-be.

Churchill really, really needs to go, because he is dragging down the hard-working students and faculty with him. The fact is, is that tenure needs to be dragged out of the teaching profession along with him.
