ZX11's Email of the Day

Fun, but an urban myth:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/recoil.asp

And the tale has its roots in one that was extant during the Vietnam War, and which was probably as apocryphal:

"...a Vietnam-era sniper who was sarcastically asked by a hostile anti-war reporter "How can you shoot women and children?"

His sarcastic reply..."You just don't lead them as much."

Which is a bit tougher and less politically correct.

I know it's probably B.S., but it's still a great little story to lighten up the day. As well as help us believe that those young men and women out there risking their lives for us and the grateful among the Iraqis have the right attitude for the job.

Myth or not, it's good!

The management sincerely regrets posting the above story without the obligatory flashing "Joke" button before and aft.

A corollary I'm stealing from some other site:

Young marine, just returned from VietNam. Local TV shows up at the airport, since he's, well, the local boy. Left-wing b*tch sticks a microphone in his face and asks, "How does it feel to murder innocent women and children?"

Marine's answer: "I'd rather murder women and children than F*CK!!

No airtime for you tonight, sweetie...
