A tour of virtually any liberal blog's comment section is a window into many disturbed souls.

These comments are as callous and insensitive to the human condition, as the Nazi intelligentia in their pro-Aryan zeal, impregnated blonde, blue-eyed women for the sake of adding to their master race, while demonizing Jews, homosexuals, the handicapped, and any other miscreant into the final solution of taste tests.

Just when we think "never again," Evil slithers onto the scene, smoothly selling his politically correct lies.

It's a classic example of the observer being influenced by the observed. And its also a stupid interpretation of evolutionary science.
Observing the evolutionary continuum, Meyers identifies himself as just another link in the chain. Sees himself as no different than his observed object.
Fine, OK. But, why then is he observing the chicken, and not the other way around?
I LOVE scientists who can't think beyound the paradigm of their own specialisation (and yet pretend to be Reneissance men).
Hah!

There are certain times, and in certain contexts, in which that phrase might be funny.

NONE of them are in the public forum, and all of them include friends whose use of such "shocking" statements is not shocking, because they are KNOWN to not be serious.

yes, I have such friends, and love them dearly, and all of them know the place and time for such things. That is probably why I love them dearly.
