Moon on Strike

Thank you for posting that link to NASA. The Northeast wasn't the best place for watching the eclipse because the moon set here before the show was over-- but what I could see was breathtaking, and worth sitting up to watch. A wonderful spiritual antidote, too, to all the sordid stuff in the news.

Mrs. Tmj caught a meteor impact in the moon's lower left quadrant. I'm not sure of the time, but it would have been between two and three a.m. local here in Utah.

She described it as a flash, followed by a rapidly dimming glow. No binos, and our telescope wasn't set up, alas, but I wish I had seen it.
