"Louie, Louie:" Decoded

Frankly, I'm disappointed that the lyrics aren't as filthy as people had imagined.

Ahhhhh, drunken frat days, cloths awash in spilt beer and the pungent odor of vomit and pinesol on the floor........good days.

I could never understand the lyrics before, but reading them while listening, it was obvious that these are the lyrics and they were perfectly coherent. How could I have not easily deciphered them years ago? And this was while simultaneously listening to an Internet jazz station. A related phenomenon took place at LGF a few days ago when Charles ran that Indian "nipples" music video. I "heard" the subtitled words. I assume that this involves some sort of cross-sense-suggestion-to-the-subconscious brain thing here.
