And Biden cut it down further, to $150,000.

I noted two funnies in Obama's "parade of victims". The woman with the basket over-full of medicines, over half and some of the more prominently displayed bottles and boxes were OTC (over-the-counter) like pepto-bismol and not prescription drugs, but arranged to suggest they were. I'm betting most of those others are available at Wal-Mart for $10 for a 3 month supply. The union Ford worker and wife who were so destitute, still eating out, a massive plate of meat for some $25 or so, for two people who looked like they needed to miss a few meals, not to mention save the $25. It reminds me of a confrontation former Georgia governor Lester Maddox had with an entitlement-type at a Q&A. The class-warrior demanded to know why Lester (who owned a restaurant known for its fried chicken) was able to eat fried chicken while he had to eat bologna sandwiches. Lester replied he didn't understand it either, since bologna was $1.89 a pound and chicken was $0.29 a pound. You can't fix stupid.

So, who's right? Sen. Hopey-Changey ($200K), or Sen. Doll-Hair-Implants ($150K)?

What's always left out of Obama's discussions of his tax plans is his determination to let the Bush tax cuts lapse, which will lead to everyone paying more taxes. Obama's finagle around this is that it won't be a tax increase, but just the lapsing of a tax cut. A beautiful piece of lawyerly logic. The top 1% of taxpayers are paying a higher percentage of income taxes under Bush than under Clinton and their share now exceeds that of the bottom 95% of taxpayers. Exxonmobil will pay more income tax this year than the bottom 50% of taxpayers. Despite all this we are bombarded by continually by claims of tax cuts going to the rich and Big Oil and people eat it up because it goes entirely unchallenged. There is constant clamor for leaders willing to speak truth to power, but the real, completely unfilled need, is for leaders who are willing to speak truth to the people and for people willing to accept that what is right is always hard and that what seems easy is almost always a prelude to disaster.

I often lament that I cannot be a "Card-carrying Conservative." Is it because I disagree with conservative principles or policies? No. Its because it never ceases to amaze me that the party that thinks of itself as the enlightened (albeit conquering) elite has such a penchant for disinformation. It makes one wonder if the logocide is intentional or just the result of not paying serious attention to anyone outside of your perceived caste.

Senator Obama most certainly HAS NOT "reduced" the ceiling of income regarding his tax plan. He has clearly stated all along, in as plain of language as possible, that if you make less than $250,000 a year you will not see any tax increase. He then goes on to say that if you make $200,000 a year OR LESS, you will actually see your taxes reduce. This has been his unchanging position throughout the campaign.

For the literacy-challenged among us, this means that those in the $200K to $250K income range will NOT get a tax break, but they will also NOT see a tax increase. Pretty simple, right?

You'd never know it from the knee-jerk howling of the "I'm not greedy; I only want one nickel more than I can possibly spend" crowd.

(On a parting note, to those of you on the right who lament the entry of Sarah Palin into the political arena; blame no one other than yourselves. This is the fruition of your party's decades-long devotion to disinformation and doublespeak -- in an effort to win over the uneducated masses who don't want to think for themselves. When you deliberately court that crowd, you don't get to scream and squirm when they rise up and take over your party.)

Bill Richardson just lowered it to 120K. By Nov.4 they will promise to loot anyone making over 50K. Obamatons either live off public dole or are multi-millionaires who know how to tweak the tax codes.
