I posted the clarification link earlier. I hate to rain on the parade. You seem to be having quite a bit of fun with it. However, I think the level of perceived nefariousness is reaching the point of overload. I live here in Quincy, IL and see these two (Ms. Sower and Hunt) on the tube occasionally. I did a brief search and no one else seems to have reported this meeting on Nov. 5. That would have been the day after the election. I doubt that Obama would have abandoned his post-election glory-basking to meet with the likes of Blago the next afternoon. To discuss his replacement? Just doesn't seem quite like him. What I speculate is that Ms. Sowers reported something she heard without confirming. Ms. Hunt did the same thing. Come on, the day after the election? It should be easy enough to find out what was on the One's schedule. It doesn't excuse the website scrubbing though.

Again,I think the reporters reported something that didn't happen. They didn't follow up, didn't offer a correction because no one, until now, called them on it. FoxNews also interviewed Axelrod who states that Obama has discussed the Senate seat replacement with Blogojovich! Axelrod just now says he was mistaken! Sure sure!

Youtube shut down the Foxnews video, but if you watch Foxnews, they are sure to play it again along with the picture of Blog and Obama shaking hands on Dec. 5.

I listened to Obama's news conference about Health Care reform and he sounded pretty convincing about his statements that he had no content with the Governor regarding this (Senate Seat) matter.

So, one needs to ask oneself "Does this make sense?" for if true paints Obama as somewhat incompetent for at least 2 reasons. First, this is Obama's seat, the last 2 years of his term. If I were the President-elect, I would have found it imperative to give my input if anything to safeguard the people of Illinois. The people of Illinois elected Obama in 2004 and what I assume was his campaign promises, values, etc. and I would at least want some input on any replacement. And second, as the newly elected President wouldn't want to have as many Senators as possible who share your core political believes to make passage of your legislation easier? I would suspect he would want that from both the Illinois and New York Senate seats and would hope that he or his staff would be in touch with the Governors of Illinois and New York. It's only an issue because of what Blagojevich was alleged to have done.

Which leads me to ask, “Is Obama lying”? He stated "no contact". Did he mean no discussions or no "quid pro quo" discussions? And why would Blagojevich get caught on tape saying:

"that m - - - - - f - - - - -," was willing to give nothing but "appreciation" if Blagojevich appointed Obama's friend Valerie Jarrett.

Why would Axelrod change his story? Something makes the President-elect less than forthcoming.

It also appears to me the investigation was ended early to protect Democratic president elect Obama. It also appears that Democratic president elect Obama was tipped off by the biased Tribune reporters and that is why he suddenly with drew Democrat Valerie Jarrett’s name. Fitzgerald is protecting Democratic president elect Obama and Democrat Chief of Staff Rahm(D). Are they above the law because they are Democrats? I wonder how long the Valerie Plame prosecutor will stay popular with the Democrats? The Democrat president elect Obama has already lied numerous times saying he “had no contact” and did not not know what was going on. They have the Democrat governor Blago on tape saying Democratic president elect Obama rejected the deal. That means he had contact with him one way or the other. We now know Rahm was in contact with Blago.

I remember very clearly during the Lewinsky scandal, an NPR interview with some idiot woman sobbing and stating that if impeachment meant a worsening economy that would hinder her ability to provide shoes for her children then she would rather the investigation/prosecution not continue.

It is just that sort of base appeal to emotion and fear that the media will employ to prop up their Wunderkind.
