Lindbergh's Leap of Faith: May 20–21, 1927

I remembered. I knew today was the anniversary.

What's that relationship game (has something to do with Kevin Bacon)?

I had a neighbor---Everett Crawford---who was a young car mechanic at a Ford dealership in Kansas, when he repaired a grounded airmail plane for a young pilot named Charles Lindbergh. It was against the rules, but Lindbergh gave Crawford a ride in the plane. Crawford was so impressed that he eventually he became a pilot too.

Crawford was in his early 80s and still flying his own airplane when I met him, and he was quite the character. Not many people got their first airplane ride with Charles Lindberg.
